The fall

Beneath trees I pass.

Silent majesties shedding their year.

Some, reluctant - others relieved.

Dizziness of abundance displayed in firework crowns of golden red —

While mania - cracked with fatigue - shows in earth’s brown imprint

Spreading across dangling leaves who await their soil destiny.

Whether in flare or fade,

Winter’s great sanctuary awaits.

It summons me as well.

Sweetness of harvest and burdens relieved —

Yet also the poignance of loss.

Mind draws inward and downward to soft underbelly where deepest roots connect.

Seeking safe haven,

And hope

Through dark alchemy ahead…

Where loss and new growth become one.
