Renovations have been going on at my main studio space since January. But now, with great delight, I can announce that the transformation is complete! I am so excited to welcome my wonderful clients into my healing space and look forward to the sounds we will create here together.

In honor of celebrating and building the energy in my transformed space, I am running a special from now until the end of September. Book with the code BACKHOME and enjoy 50% off any session bookings.

The renovation process of this year offered a great opportunity to reflect on the process of transformation. We can never know how any journey will unfold at the beginning. Transformation is creative and the creative process can be messy and full of uncertainty. No matter how much excitement we might have at the beginning for the possibilities that will open on the other side of the change, navigating the chaos from beginning to end of transformation can bring up all kinds of doubts, fears and even regrets. As things get worse before they get better — a hallmark of any significant shift — it can be difficult to have faith in the process, or even yourself. The ego might start barking its resistance loudly as it feels restless, impatient and insecure. Big transformations often have many other energies other than your own at play, and it can be hard to have patience and faith in the bigger picture while these other energies emerge and take shape.

Having reminders of why you made a choice in the first place is important. The ‘why’ keeps you connected to your sense of faith and trust in yourself and the process. It can help move the ego and thoughts out of the shadow — which all too often can presume the worst of people and situations when feeling triggered and insecure — and help you see the unfolding for what it is: an occasionally chaotic, but necessary stage of a bigger evolution as old patterns are broken down and new ones are formed. It moves your mind from accusation and demands (me vs. them mentality) and into curiosity, collaboration and relationship.

During such a triggering time when I questioned my reasons and timing for making such a huge change, a conversation with one of my best friends helped reconnect me with my ‘why.’ My friend is excellent at sensing motivation, at understanding when thoughts and actions are coming from a place of deeper truth and need, or when they’re coming from a more superficial place, temporary emotion or external pressure. I treasure her friendship, guidance and this conversation. I remember her warmly asking about the issues that required the renovation. I knew she would be kind and supportive no matter what, but I expected her to question the scale of the renovation, to question the timing, or to ask if there could have been a simpler option. But as I told my story, her face became more and more astonished and at the end without hesitation she said “Of course you needed to make this change! You HAD to do this. Anytime you need a reminder why this was necessary, you call me.”

Having a friend know me and my intention so deeply helped keep me reconnect with my ‘why,’ and my sense of faith with myself and the process. This is so deeply important — for all of us. One of my favorite things she said (and I’m paraphrasing here) was “I always think that our spaces are great metaphors for our lives, and with this change, you’re creating YOUR foundation — literally and figuratively.” She was so right! Thank you my dear friend.

Of course this wouldn’t be the last time my faith was put to the test with the processes, habit patterns of doubt tend to keep coming up as new fears, anxieties and insecurities are exposed. But, I was able to strongly reconnect with my intention which was always bigger than just fixing the physical space. My friend reminded me of that. And as I watched the wonderful souls come and go who helped build this space and bring this intention into reality, my heart is full of such gratitude. Along the way, life happened, things took a bit longer than planned, but I also received far more beauty than I thought. So many people were a part of making this happen, and when I think of my one change in the context and flow of all the changes in all the lives involved it puts this transformation in both an extraordinary and humbling perspective. I am reminded that transformation takes time - because a lot is involved. A LOT. But when change made with the right intention and strong connection, the transformation may be even better than you imagined.

As a final expression of gratitude, I have LOVED calling the Intuitive Connection my home away from home since February. The Intuitive Connection is owned by the fabulous Suzanne Smith. I could not have moved through this transition without her, her beautiful space and her generosity. Above and beyond the space, I am especially grateful to have made a new dear friend. Thank you Suzanne! If you’re able to see Suzanne for a reading, or a workshop, I highly recommend it! Her space and presence is such a gift to our community. Thank you to all who joined me in Suzanne’s magical space during the winter, spring and early summer and infinite gratitude to Suzanne for offering me space in your place and in your heart! Much love!!
